🖱️Slack

Slack will be the main channel of communication and information dissemination for this run of TechUp. Please familiarise yourself on how to use Slack.

Step1: Set up Slack

You should have already received the email invite to TechUp’s channels on Slack from GovTech. Please be reminded to change your profile picture once you have set up your account, for our identification purposes.

Invitation to Join TechUp's Channels

1. Click on "Join Slack" on the Slack invitation email

Create Account

Fill in Details

1. Click on "Create Account" when you are done

1. Set up your 2FA with your preferred authentication app.

2. Enter the 2FA code and click "Verify code and activiate"

1. At the above screen click on "Back to your Workspaces"

1. Click on Launch in Slack in the GVT04 External Workspace

1. You will now have access to #techup4, #techup-webapp-help

1. Click on the profile icon (1) and then "Upload Photo" to Set your profile image

1. In the #techup4 channel, be sure to check the "Techup Run 4 Canvas" to receive key information

2. You're done with the setup! Please feel free to say hello! to your fellow participants and organisers. See you soon!

You are highly encouraged to download Slack on your phone and the laptop which you will be using for easier access during the course. For those of you who are loaning a laptop from us, Slack has already been pre-downloaded for you.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with how to use Slack. If you are unfamiliar with Slack, please refer to this short video, or this tutorial, for a quick guide on Slack’s various features. It is important for you to familiarize yourself with the features of Slack as we will be relying on this tool heavily throughout the course for all communication purposes.
